God of the in-between places

Matthew P. Anstey — for all the other days

God of the in-between places

if silence is all I have, please hear me

if darkness is all I have, please see me

if fear is all I have, please face me

if doubt is all I have, please believe me

God of the well-worn places

thanks for family and friends

thanks for brothers and sisters

thanks for mums and dads

thanks for children and laughter

God of the yet-to-come places

who can imagine tomorrow's fresh dawn?

or the next new moon, crisp and clear?

or a song, as yet unsung?

Who can imagine running with angels,

with the God of places as yet unknown.

Amen.
